Collapsed Communal Stack Pipe Contaminates Kitchen and Requires Immediate Works

A collapsed communal stack pipe causing a disastrous back up into the toilet and bath of your ground floor flat is not what any property owner wants to be greeted with! Unfortunately, this was the escalating situation Rapid Response Maintenance were tasked with urgently attending to from an insurance client of ours.

Once on-site our experienced engineers located the collapsed drain straight away, cleared the blocked area and excavated through the kitchen floor to enable access. Once admission was procured, a new section of stack was run through the property and out to the main drains, and then reinstatement work began thereafter.

Due to the nature of the incident, the entire kitchen was contaminated and the tenants had to be safely moved off the premises whilst a full deep environmental clean was completed.

Once completed, we dealt directly with the owner of the property, and supplied her with plenty of cabinet, worktops and flooring choices for her to choose from before we fitted a brand-new kitchen in her ground floor flat.

Rapid Response Maintenance was informed that the property owner was very pleased with the outcome and how helpful we were through the entirety of the job, including communication between ourselves and the client. It’s a testament to our internal communication that she also had high praise for the level of organisation between James, our engineer, who completed the job form start to finish, to Lucy in our head office.
